Re: Making Money Making Virtual Clothes

I'm lucky in that I fell face first into a government graphics job fresh out of school and stayed with it for over fourty years. I never had to deal with copyright although we got the occasional lecture on the state of the law from the government 'suits'. As Poser became popular, I experimented with...

Re: Making Money Making Virtual Clothes

I hate to interject a dose of reality to anyone considering selling 3D products online, but almost anything one makes will be pirated in a microsecond. Folks will grab your stuff and sell it as their own (there are dozens of sites based in China and the Ukraine) or throw out on the torrent and file ...

Re: Indian Saree

I spent six months working in the middle east some years ago, and was immediately struck by the elegant beauty and simplicity of the saree. They're also eminently sexy. I bought a bunch of them for my wife and daughter (she wore one to her prom and was a big hit), and found the prices more than reas...

Re: Custom avatar & bounding volume question.

Yes, as soon as Vicky (the long suffering V4 for Poser) was loaded (in MD, NOT from too much wine) there where BVs & APs. I assumed that these where leftovers from MDs avatar. Aha, a light or camera? I'll check that. I wound up moving the larger BVs out of the way so that I could fiddle with the sma...

Custom avatar & bounding volume question.

I imported a V4 character from Poser as a DAE over the default MD avatar. I then... 1) saved the V4 default pose (a 'T' pose), 2) arranged Vicky's (V4) pose to match MD's default pose then deleted the MD avatar. 3)saved Vicky's new 'A' pose. 4)...now it gets weird. I then noticed that Vicky had beco...

Re: Arm pose in MD for Poser clothing

...or I could add the extra material to the shoulders when posed in the 'T' pose. I'll just use MD's default pose since it'll be much easier to model some of the involved outfits I'm planning. As an aside, I'm an experienced CG artist who's also no stranger to a sewing machine. This made it straight...

Arm pose in MD for Poser clothing

I've noticed that MD (I have 7) uses a pose where the arms are raised only about 45º when building clothing, while Poser's normal default pose is with arms stuck out straight. I'm assuming that I should keep my imported Vicky and Mike Four with his/her arms raised straight? I might want to share the...
