Struggling with swimsuit

Hi there!
I'm quite new to MD, but good in 3dsMax and Substance :oops:
I was asked by a friend of myne to help with making 3d model of swimsuit. And I decided to try MD :D
I wathed several tutorials, but still struggling with the garment.

What is my plan:
1) Make a garment in MD
2) Smooth in zBrush
3) Lopoly/hipoly in 3ds Max
4) Texture in Substance

I have several questions:
- is it ok if I have some parts streched? see attached pics
- which material should I choose?
- what is the best way to create these straps which are connecting ?
- should I use iron brush to shrink some parts of the suit? or some other options like Elastic line or negative pressure?

Since your intention is to take it to another program, there is an easy way. Don't rely just on the spaghetti straps for construction. Instead, create a separate fabric choice, (something you will NOT use in any other area of the swimsuit), and use it to fill the empty spaces defined by the straps. On export, merely delete, or not select, those pieces to be exported in the garment. This way, you have the structural support you need in MD, but with an element that doesn't have to go into your next stage of the work-flow. This way, you can make the straps by attaching them along the edges of the different pattern pieces.

I tried to follow blueprints, but it wasn't possible. The swimsuit didn't fit the model. So I had to add some tweaks (which I actually don't like). Is there any way to make it withouts these cuts.
PS (I have already tried elastic option)

You will find that once you export, those seamlines will not show in any other program, when rendered in 3D mode. They are a purely MD visual effect for rendering only. Seamlines, unless given a fold setting, are actually flat, and the cloth butts up edge-to-edge, (what other programs would call a weld). You can get a better idea of what the actual mesh is doing by turning off the MD effect this way: (main menu bar) Display>Sewing> (uncheck) Show seamlines. The only indication, in other programs, is that the mesh view will have a distinct vertex line in that location. Which is an aid to doing edge effects/selections....

The other visual cue to the sewing is the hard angle of the outer edge, which can be reduced by adjusting those lines, to produce a smoother transition and reducing the sharp angle.
